Welcome

The Device & Usability Learning Lab is the first of its kind in Arizona, combining the concept of an open device lab with a usability research facility. It provides a unique learning environment for ASU faculty, staff, and students.

Our device wall features over a dozen devices including smartphones, tablets, laptops, computers, and a smart TV from Apple, Android, Kindle and Windows. It instantly populates all devices with your website or web app to facilitate testing. Learning and research topics include user-centered design, user experience, usability testing, heuristic evaluation, accessibility testing, and click tracking analytics.

Monitor Wall

Interact with your website or application instantly on multiple browsers and operating systems. Includes MAC OS, Windows and Linux systems running (where applicable) Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

It would take hours to test a website on all the devices and the Lab instantly populates your website on every device at the same time

Users and devices come in all shapes and sizes.

The power of the DULL is the ability to test your design instantly across multiple devices that you can physically touch and manipulate. Not quite sure how your new UI component will function on an older Android phone? Will the same design work for the browser within a Kindle Fire? Built it, test it and gain instant feedback for further iterations.

There is no better way to test for user experience than on the user’s actual device.
